HB 2369

The Kansas legislature this year enacted House Bill 2369, which contains a number of provisions dealing with energy matters. Two portions of the bill establish Renewable Energy Standards (sections 1-7) and Net Metering (sections 8-16) for utilities and require the Kansas Corporation Commission to enact rules and regulations within 12 months. Before beginning the drafting of, and the formal process for KCC adoption of, rules and regs, the Commission Staff wishes input and comments on how to interpret various provisions of the bill and what should be in the implementing rules and regs.
