Energy Manager Grant Program

Grant Program Closed. This grant program was established using $1.87 million in federal funds received from the Department of Energy as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).

The grants were awarded to 10 local government coalitions in August 2010. The grants provide $85,000/year for up to 2 years to hire an energy manager and pay for other energy efficiency expenditures (see program narrative). The energy manager will develop a short-term and long-term plan for each of the coalition members in order to achieve the following goals.

• Reducing energy use and improve energy efficiency in public and private buildings.
• Reducing consumption of fuel in vehicles and equipment.
• Increasing awareness of energy conservation and efficiency.
• Increasing participation in programs related to energy conservation and management.
