KCC warns consumers to beware of possible utility audit scam

Topeka - The Kansas Corporation Commission has received reports of an individual claiming to be working with the KCC and conducting a free audit of major utilities and communication companies in Kansas to obtain refunds for consumers. The KCC is not working with this individual. Based on reports, the promotions appear to be targeting small businesses through email and postcards. This is not a KCC sanctioned audit and the agency urges consumers to use caution. More information will be released if it becomes available.
