Public Hearings & Comment Periods

The Commission welcomes and encourages public input on utility rate and siting cases and proposed rules and regulations. There are two ways for citizens to participate in the formal regulatory process. The first is to attend a public hearing. The second is to submit a comment during the open comment period. Click on the links below to find out more about each of these options.

Scheduled Public Hearings and Open Comment Periods

A Public Hearing and Comment Period has been scheduled for
Evergy’s
proposed Energy Efficiency and Demand-Side Management programs

Evergy has filed an application with the Kansas Corporation Commission requesting approval of a portfolio of nine energy efficiency and demand-side management programs for residential and business customers. If approved, the programs would be in effect from 2023 through 2026.

The KCC hosted a public hearing to provide customers an opportunity to learn about and comment on Evergy’s proposed Energy Efficiency and Demand-Side Management programs on Monday, June 27.  The hearing was broadcast live on the Commission’s YouTube channel and recorded for later viewing (see link below).

The Commission will accept written comments about the programs through 5 p.m., July 8, 2022, on its website (see link below), by mail, or by calling the KCC at 800-662-0027 or 785-271-3140.
